I have mac environment on which I had setup the eclipse environment so all of my posts are related to my experiences working with android development on MAC OS X.
The android developer site covers extensively on how to install android.
The first thing one needs to do is to download the android sdk package that is available here.
The setup guide available at http://developer.android.com/sdk/eclipse-adt.html gives us a pretty good idea on how to setup the android plugin.
